LOUD SOUND in collaboration with ICS ARMAGEDDON brings in Athens the Wacken Metal Battle and takes one band to the biggest metal festival, WACKEN OPEN AIR FESTIVAL, which is attended by 70.000 people from all over the world.
Our "local heroes" will perform at the WACKEN METAL BATTLE and the wiining band will travel to Wacken in Germany to play at the WET stage of W:O:A. This year the Festival is bound to be sold out again with acts like Iron Maiden, Children of Bodom and dozens of other band, world famous and new ones. Read more... =>
The circle of the priliminary rounds closes this Sunday after Round VIII and with the begining of the new year we'll enter the semifinals. We'll say our farewells to 2007 –in a not-so-cristmassy spirit– with the following bands:

The outcome of the vote for the sixth preliminary round:
On Wednesday afternoon Ensiferum will land in Athens -the first of the 20 stops of their european tour- flying over from Finland for the live show of Thursday at AN Club. The five-member band (Petri Lindroos, Markus Toivonen, Sami Hinkka, Janne Parviainen and Emmi Silvennoinen replacing Meiju Enho) will get on stage right after the athenian band Insidead. The results of this preliminary round:
The first three bands proceed to the Semifinals. Next round on Sunday, November 4. We have booked the date of the IV Preliminary Round on the 18th of November where Mora, Black Peace, By Accident, Sad Dolls, As I Fall, Prejudice Reborn, Headshot will be playing, and also the date (25-11-07) of the Round V with TSEA Borders, Reptile Fever, Heavy Dirt, Sinful, X-State, Upside Down and Another Hangover. =>
The outcome of the vote for the first preliminary round is: in the first place slavE AT god, second place Logic Ejection, third place Second Nature, followed by Hybrid, Exiled Faces and Lilith.
The next live shows on schedule are on Sunday 21 October and on Sunday 4 November with Full Terror Assault, Veins of Decay, Disco Queen, Failed Abortions, Decayed Truth, Death Clocks, Downfall in the 3rd Round of the priliminary level. =>
The date for the second round of the preliminary level has been booked. On the 21st of October the following bands will compete:
From Finland, armed with electrical guitars and sharpened swords, Ensiferum, one of the top viking folk metal bands, invade the south to begin their european tour right here in Athens. LoudSound is proud to announce that Ensiferum will be playing live for the first time in Greece this November. =>
After the successful season of 2006-07 the Battle of the Bands marches on to 2008. This time AN Club will be the permanent base of the contest. The first Sunday of October (7/10) the BotB 2007-'08 will begin with the following metal bands:
Insidead will get 50 hours of recording and mixing at Prova studio, X-Ray will get 20 hours at Q-Studio and Shadowblind 10 also at Q-Studio. Action S.T. will get a website (design and development) and so will Blackout.
Additionally, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners, Insidead, X-Ray and Action S.T., will be interviewed by Metalmare mag for the issue of September.
|top|We are glad to announce the results of the BotB after the Finals. Insidead got the first place with 169 points followed by X-ray (126), Action S.T. (119), Shadowblind (99), Blackout (82), Mothers of destruction (82).

|top|This week Loudsound will give an interview to Art Über Alles, the tv show about alternative music, in order to make a brief presentation of the Battle of the Bands and to call for artists who feel they should participate to the next one (2007-'08). You'll also get to listen to a couple of songs (of bands that take part) and see live footage. The show will be broadcasted this Saturday (5/5/07) at 20:00, on Channel 9.
The 3rd and last Semifinal of the contest will be on the 13 of May. The bands will be: Blackout, Charisma, Freudstrap, X-Ray, Drugstar, Avalanche. The best will make it to the big final in June.=>

|top|The second round of the Battle of the Bands took place at Rodeo club, Victoria sq, last Sunday with many friends of the underground scene coming over to support the bands and and great performances. As for the ones that prevailed... it'll show on the next level of the "Battle", though we are expecting your comments.

|top|The first night of the Battle of the bands, on the 3rd of December, was an opening that showed the dynamics of the project, as more than 300 people gathered in Underworld. There were a few technicalities that delayed the start of the show. A warm thank you to all the people who came to support the bands.
